    High Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT)

    HFCT 20-40 Partial Discharge sensor is a high frequency current transformer specifically designed for the passive detection of PD in HV and EHV cable circuits. This inductive sensor has been designed to provide an accurate, contactless and non-destructive PD measurement inside link boxes. PD testing (offline and online measurements) in cable joints and termination now available by using these sensors mounted in link boxes.

    The HFCT comes with a silicone adaptor can be used to fix & centralize the sensor to wide range of bonding cables (Ø20- Ø40 mm). The sensor is constructed with a copper body to provide RF shielding and improved performance in noisy environments. Specially designed ferrite core, primary and secondary windings provide a high-performance partial discharge sensor in range of 0.2-30 MHz. RG58 coax cable length can be adjusted upon request (default 70 cm).

    HFCT sensor has advantages including compact size, no effect on lightning performance of link box (no metal parts on sensor body), maintenance-free and high sensitivity.

    This product has been tested to evaluate its electrical and mechanical performance. It can withstand AC, DC and lightning over voltages which may be faced during its operation in link box. It can also withstand electromagnetic forces during short circuit currents in link boxes.

    Silicone rubber cable terminations with their insulators for indoor and open-air fields are design and produced for single and three core medium voltage cables (Prothen-X).

    The silicone rubber cable terminations which do not undergo any physical and chemical changes within temperature limits of -63°C and +250°C are resistant to the effects of solar rays, to ozon, ultraviolet rays, radiation, to mineral oils and alcohol, to acids and bases not altered by weather conditions but unresistant to biological factors.

    The installation of the cable termination can be done very rapidly and may immediately become functional ,begin securely effective even under heavy working conditions.

    Terminations’s surface resistance is high for leakage current ways.

    For controlling the electrical field inside the cable termination, semiconductor material is put.

    The HFCT sensor frequancy bandwith is 02-30 Mhz for this reason the HFCT 20-40 sensor provides long Partial Discharge detection range.

    The termination manufactured at 35 Shore A hardness are water resistant and can be used under steam of 130oC.

    The penetration of humidity and dirt into the termination end has been prevented by a special hat introduced between the cable and the termination
